PET考试中关于阅读能力的总体要求是：能理解日常的信息和文章，包括来自于报纸上的事实类文章，酒店往来信件以及日常信件等，并能够理解自己所处真实学习环境的大部分信息。
PET阅读部分有6个题型32道小题。包括三选一，四选一，完型填空，句子填空和匹配题。
